Come one, Come all to Pageantry in the Park! This celebration picnic of Mid-Summer will be a day of fun, and food, showcasing authenticity, heraldry, and pageantry.

Pageantry in the Park will take all the best attributes of the romantic “High Middle Ages”; heraldic display, period clothing and accouterments, and chivalric comportment, and combine them with the fun of a simple “picnic in the park”. Please bring your pavilions, banners, pennons, and standards! With the emphasis on keeping as much of a medieval atmosphere as possible, all efforts will be made to “hide the mundane”. Please keep soda cans, Tupperware, and KFC boxes hidden!

We will be holding many contests, including the Most Decadent feast, Best Heraldic Display, and a “Guilding the Lily” Contest (a display of spectacular voice heraldry ... more about this later.) There will be no fighting at this event; all fighters are encouraged to bring their Helmets and participate in the “Shiniest/Best Decorated Helmet” contest and we will have other ‘competitions’ as well. AND, in good Caerthan tradition, we will be playing lawn games including BOCCE BALL! There will be no specific children’s events; children are encouraged to participate in all activities WITH their parents.

In the tradition of service and generosity, we will be gathering nonperishable food items for the local food bank. The need for donations is just as great now as ever—please do what SCAdians do best, and give abundantly. Charity is one of the Knightly Virtues.

Since this is a city park, the site is absolutely DRY. The stone pavilion picnic area is reserved from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. for those who choose to make use of it. Stone privies are also located on site.

Site Fees:
$3.00 per adult (16 years and older). There will be no fee for children under 16. Standard non-member surcharge of $3.00 will apply. Each gentle that presents a Heraldic banner, standard, pennon or well-painted shield at gate will receive $1.00 off the gate admission. Checks payable to SCA Inc.- Barony of Caerthe.

Directions:
Take your best route to The Kings Highway (I-25). Travel The King’s Highway to 104th Ave. (Exit 221) Turn west on 104th Ave. Continue approximately 2 miles to Lowell Blvd. Turn left (south) at the traffic signal on Lowell Blvd. Travel south approximately ¾ of a mile. Squires Park is on the left.
